Talia Carner's novel "The Third Daughter"
Monday, April 26 @ 7:00 pm via Zoom
This book shines a light on a little known and dark chapter of Jewish history. A young, vulnerable woman's family enters into what was to be an advantageous match for an impoverished young girl whose family is fleeing a pogrom. Tragically, they have unknowingly sold their oldest daughter, Batya, into prostitution. Inspired by Shalom Aleichem’s story, “The Man From Buenos Aires”, Talia Carner reinvents the story of one of Tevye’s daughters after the family flees a pogrom. This story propelled Talia Carner to launch her campaign against today’s sex trafficking.
