The documentary, Fiddler: A Miracle of Miracles, looks at the cultural history of one of the world’s most beloved musicals, Fiddler on the Roof, which opened on Broadway in 1964. It explores the unexpected richness of its themes as well as its vast reach across time and cultures. With rare archival footage and interviews with musical luminaries including Stephen Sondheim, Chaim Topol, and Lin-Manuel Miranda, the film explores the impact of this iconic, long-running, award-winning musical, including the true wonder of wonders—that audiences worldwide and for the last half century all claim the story as their own.
