Application packet for Sha'ar

Hebrew for “gateway”, Sha’ar is designed to bridge the gap between Camp Habonim and the GALIT (CIT) Program. This is the first step towards becoming a camp counselor. The program is designed for campers who desire to have more responsibility and want to work on their leadership skills. The program is also designed to train young men and women to become productive CIT’s. Campers entering 7th and 8th grade take part in this program that combines many of the activities and programs of Camp Habonim with segments of the GALIT Program. Sha’ar will include a service project, involve campers in planning programs and also day trips throughout the session.
The program is offered in eight weekly sessions. Our camp setting provides a safe, encouraging atmosphere for teens to discover their abilities. In order to become a member of the GALIT Program, campers must successfully complete the Sha’ar Program.
