Sha'ar Teen Camp

Sha'ar is designed especially for campers entering 7 and 8 grades. This program combines many of the activities of Camp Habonim and segments of the Galit Program. Campers will participate in community service projects and have lots of opportunities to develop their leadership skills. Sha'ar is designed to train young men and women to become productive CIT's.

Our camp setting provides a safe, encouraging atmosphere for young teens to discover their abilities. In order to become a member of the Galit Program, campers must successfull complete the Sha'ar Program.

  • Arts and Crafts
  • Involvement in planning camp-wide activities.
  • Weekly Day Trips which include mini-golf, hiking, boating, roller-skating and adventure outings.

SHA'AR EXTENDED DAY MODULES
Monday - Friday • 7:30 - 9 am • $10 M, $12 NM per day
Monday - Friday • 4:00 - 5:30 pm • $10 M, $12 NM per day

Bus Transportation from the Westboro/Shrewsbury service area is available at the rate of $14/per day/ round trip or $8/each way. No refunds for transportation services.

Teen Travel Camp

The JCC Teen Travel Camp provides campers in grades 7 - 10 the opportunity to experience a whirlwind of adventure on exciting trips to popular destinations.

Week 4 - EXPLORE NEW ENGLAND DAY TRIPS

-Water Country in Portsmouth, NH
-Boston Duck Tour
-Hampton Beach, Hampton, NH
-Optional sleepover at the JCC on Wednesday night

August 5 - August 9

-Water Wizz, Wareham, MA
-Whale Watch out of Boston Aquarium in Boston, MA

-Optional sleepover at the JCC on Wednesday night

In the event of inclement weather, alternate trips to indoor recreational destinations will be provided. This is a week of summer fun that you don't want to miss!
Westborough/Shrewsbury bus transportion may not be available on all days due to the early departure or late return of some trips - parents will be notified.

Week 3 & 6 - CLUB GATEWAY, KENT, CT - OVERNIGHT CAMP
July 8 - July 12 & July 29 - Aug 2

Kids can find out what it's like to go to an authentic sleep-away camp, but, for a shorter period of time, at Club Getaway!

Club Getaway is a the #1 summer destination for day camps, teen travel and park & recreation trips. More than 150 different programs. Experience a unique blend of sports, adventure and fun. Club Getaway staff supervise and run all activities, water sports and entertainment. JCC staff will be present and assist with activities.

Club Getaway is on 300 acres of Berkshire Mountain paradise. With two full-service dining rooms, 100 comfortable cabins, a movie theater, night club, reception hall and beauty surrounding you everywhere, Club Getaway is located approximately 2 1/2 hours from Worcester.

The campers will sleep in comfortable country cabins overlooking the lake and mountains. All have air-conditioning, heating and private baths. Club Getaway has two dining rooms and outdoor tents that create the perfect setting for wonderful meals. Breakfast and dinner are served family-style, and lunches are bountiful buffets.

Sample schedule

-Monday, 9 AM - depart the JCC for Club Getaway
-Tuesday, a full day at Club Getaway
-Wednesday, 2 PM depart Club Getaway, arrive at the JCC at 4:30 PM
-Thursday, 9 AM - 4 PM, day trip around the Boston area
-Friday, Mitzvah day at the JCC
