Galit (Guidance and Leadership in Training)- CIT (Counselor in Training) is an innovative program for teens entering 9th and 10th grades designed to teach skills in working with younger children, as well as peer relations, child development, and leadership.
Galit prepares teens:
- be a future camp counselors
- work with a supervisor to gain and hone their skills within their assigned groups.
- have weekly meetings that cover topics such as child development, behavioral management, communication and leadership skills, and activity planning and evaluation.
- accompany camp groups to electives as well as help during on site camp activities.
- participate in one outing per camp week.

After the application is reviewed, an interview will be required for entry into the program. Limited space is available. Note: counselor positions are competitive. While participating in Galit is looked upon favorably, it does not guarantee a counselor position in the future

Camp JCC Teen Internship Program
For High School Juniors & Seniors
Volunteer community service internship. In this unique summer internship program, you will learn about being a role model to campers. You will develop leadership skills that will last a lifetime, and acquire tools for working with children and peers. Interns will work directly with groups of campers, under the supervision of camp staff and the Assistant Camp Director.
The JCC Teen Internship runs in two-week sessions throughout the summer. You may apply for as many sessions as you like, but are required to make a minimum of a two-week commitment. Each applicant will earn a certificate of community service upon successful completion of the internship.
