July Exercise Classes Starting July 12

 

May 31 - Labor Day, September 7, 2020
 
Now, more than ever, it's critical to stay connected. During these unprecedented times, we need to exercise to help us stay strong and healthy-physically and mentally. Go head-to-head with JCC participants across the continent in your favorite form of exercise. Whether you're into strength training, running, group exercise,
swimming, or something else, you'll have a chance to test your mettle.
 
The #JCCSummerFitChallenge began on May 31, and ends on Labor Day, September 7. Make sure you're part of the action. Anyone 13 years old or older can compete; each participant, however, must have a unique email address.

Through JCC Association's 100 Days of Summer Fitness Challenge, JCCs will have the opportunity to run local
fitness challenges. In addition, JCC Association will run a continent-wide challenge, allowing JCCs to connect
with each other by participating in this shared, competitive event.
 
Fitness activities include:

* Running
* Swimming
* Cycling
* Walking
* Cardio Equipment (ellipticals, rowers, UBEs, steppers, etc
 
For the first time, the JCCA will offer four JCCs the chance to win a Spinner Ride as part of the 100 Days of Summer Fitness Challenge! Winners will be selected based upon the number of their participants and total points in top three finishes of the nine different exercise categories.

AIS Back Stretching Routine
Join Elaine for Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) Back Sequence seated in a chair or on the floor to stretch all the muscles along your spine. The important 4 principles are to isolate the muscle to be stretched; hold the stretch for only 2 seconds; repeat 6 - 10 times; move with breath (exhaling on the stretch and inhale back to neutral) and always keep your abdominals active and braced! Enjoy! Elaine

Join Caryn Beth for CBLfit@home! Below are links to three 30-minute classes, each complete with a variety of cardio, strength, core and dynamic stretch movements. Bring along two peanut butter jars, soup cans or filled water bottles for weights, or use only body weight. The most important part of each workout is your breath. More to come soon. The JCC Health and Fitness Center is exactly what you've been looking for to achieve your health & fitness goals. Whether you have an established routine or are new to exercise, our qualified staff will help you develop a training program for your long-term health & wellness in mind. As part of your JCC membership, you receive a MicroFit's state of the art fitness and wellness evaluation along with an orientation to the JCC Fitness Center and suggestions for your participation in JCC fitness programming. MicroFit's "State of the Art" Fitness and Wellness Evaluations will measure your Lifestyle Choices, Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Body Composition (% Fat), Aerobic Fitness, Strength and Flexibility.

Use TurboRoster to sign up for classes online now!

TurboRoster is our online reservation system for reserving a spot in JCC group exercise classes. Members must enroll in the online system by clicking on TurboRoster or sign up for online classes now on the TurboRoster link on the Health and Fitness page, small group exercise page, group exercise page or the spinning page.

Once you enroll in the system, signing up for small group exercise classes is easy! Use your mobile phone or any computer.

Group EX Weather Announcements

 With a delay or cancellation of Worcester Public schools, all group ex classes before 7:30am will be cancelled.

 All members will have access to the fitness center when classes are cancelled.

 8am classes and later will be determined after consideration of the severity of the weather and road conditions.

 We send out a J-Alert if there are any class cancellations. This includes classes on weekdays, weekends, and school vacation programs.
