TRX Suspension Training

The TRX was originally created in the Navy SEAL Teams in the late nineties by commandos trying to stay fit while deployed to places where time is of the essence and gyms don't exist. TRX training uses your own bodyweight as resistance and the level of difficulty is variable from 0 to 100%...changing the resistance is as simple as takin ga couple of steps forward or backward to adjust the angle of your body in relation to the ground. It is multi-dimensional and fully supports your body weight so you can really work your entire body. TRX Suspension Training will be available in monthly sessions meeting 1 time each week.

Nicolette Bender
My education includes a BS in Exercise Science, an Associates degree in Physical Therapy and certifications from National Strength and Conditioning Association and Stott Pilates. The Reltes method has proven excellent for core conditioning, postural realignment, spinals stabilization and general conditioning for clients from post rehab to the athlete. My philosophy is to focus on the client as a whole and to find exercises that will help immediately with daily function.

Sharon Dwelley
I have been a certified fitness instructor for over 20 years and recently became a certified personal trainer. In my fitness career, I have worked with all ages and levels of fitness. One of my interests is assisting clients who have had an illness or injury that has set them back physically. My personal experience with battling cancer and regaining my own health and fitness makes me confident that I can help clients regain their strength, endurance and balance.

Slavka Johnson
I have been working in sports and fitness for over 20 years. I have trained all age groups from amateur to nationally ranked athletes. I am a firm believer that the right diet and fitness gives your life the highest quality of enjoyment. The Pilates technique of training is one of my favorite because of its low impact and great results for your posture, abs and back. Give yourself a gift of being the best you can be.

Stacie Lavine
As an ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor I enjoy making fitness a fun and rewarding experience. Certified in BodyPump, BodyStep, BodyFlow and SPINNING, I understand that the key to a well balanced and fit lifestyle; the optimal mix of strength, cardiovascular, and flexibility training, is core conditioning. As a STOTT PILATES Trained Instructor, I see pilates as the “foundation for optimal musculoskeletal performance –strength, flexibility and endurance”. I help my clients to understand, take responsibility for, and work to improve their posture and movement patterns. This allows them to incorporate their pilates practice into their daily lives, a mindful way to improve their overall well-being.

Mary MacAdam
I have been fortunate to be a Personal Trainer and instructor at the JCC for 5 years. During that time I have worked with a variety of people, from teens to seniors. Listening to my clients is imperative as you have excellent instincts about what is right for you. I use a variety of tools to individualize program – stability balls, free weights, balance training and machines. Motivation, enthusiasm and determination will keep you progressing towards your fitness goals.

Cheryl Mita
I have been in the fitness industry for over 25 years. I graduated in 1984 with an Associate Degree in Physical Therapy and have been a Personal Trainer since 1990. I work with a variety of clients with a special interest in women’s fitness and senior fitness. I have helped design fitness manuals for women’s weight equipment. At the age of 52, I know first hand how diet and exercise can help you feel 30.
